1. Reply early.
Make sure you reply with explicit acceptance or declination in time. An early reply is also much appreciated because the host can plan the event easier.
2. Arrive on time and don't stay too late.
Plan to arrive on time. Even if you plan to give the host more preparation time, don't delay more than 30mins, especially if dinner or luncheon is involved in the party. You don't want to let everyone wait for you to get started. Don't be the last one to leave. The host might need time to clean up and have a rest. It's a long day for them.
3. Eat something before you go.
You don't have to do this. The goal is not craving for food at the party but to enjoy the conversations.
4. Offering help to clean up
The host has spent much effort on hospitality. An offer to help cleanup is appreciated.
5. Send a handwritten thank-you note
Because you get to their home, you have the address. Then, there is a benefit to send a handwritten note appreciate the good time spent and the hosptaility. You can consider creating customized thank-you cards with your photos and crafts.
